The River Tree
In order to put an end to Aglabem’s selfishness, who wanted to keep all the water for himself, a huge tree was cut down by a courageous messenger. The trunk of this magnificent tree became the bed of the Wolastoq River (St. John River), its branches became its tributaries and its leaves changed into lakes and ponds thus creating the life path of the people of the beautiful river: the Wolastoqey nation.
